Sunday, March 4, 2018

2:00pm: Participants receive lobbying packets

2:00-4:00pm: Lobbying training. Come learn how to advocate (using role play!) for Tibet with your elected representatives in Washington, DC.

Monday, March 5, 2018

8:00-10:30am: Registration, distribution of participant lobbying packets and Congressional folders (please arrive at the ICT office at least two hours prior to your earliest scheduled appointment to sign in and pick up your lobbying materials).

9:00am-5:00pm: Meetings with Senators and Representatives (personalized, detailed meeting schedules will be handed to participants at sign up).

5:00-6:00pm: Meet with Representative Ngodup Tsering at Office of Tibet
Location: Capitol Hill, 1228 17th Street NW, Washington, DC 2009 (5 minutes walk from ICT)

2:30-8:00pm: A gathering for Tibetan youth organized by American University Friend of Tibet The event will feature speakers, a workshop on lobbying specifically designed with youth in mind, and an open forum platform for chapters to share about the campaigns and projects they have been working on over the past year.

8:30am-1:00pm: Guided Tour of DC by RCATYC (Regional Capital Area Tibetan Youth Congress. Participants will enjoy a guided tour of DC with Tibetan and English speaking guides. Pick up points at Vienna Metro, WFC Metro, Smithsonian station.

Asian Reading Room, Library of Congress: While at Capitol Hill, you can also visit the Asian Reading Room at the Library of Congress to view a display of Tibetan items from the Library’s Tibet collection.
